Despite the fact it's still the holiday season, there have been plenty of announcements from our members during the month of January.
- Personal finance management app Pocketbook says it is the first app to integrate with Macquaries open banking platform.
- Analytics firm illion(previously Dun and Bradstreet) has acquired Adelaide-basedProviso, a specialist in automated bank statement retrieval, analysis and categorisation solutions, in preparation for an open banking regime.
- Payments platform service Verrency will expand into the US and Canada in January, driving growth from a new west coast office in San Francisco's financial district. Verrency has also signed a long-term agreement with China's UnionPay.
- Tatts Group CEO Robbie Cooke will be CEO of payments and business lending member Tyrostarting from March 2018
- The board of payments solution provider zipMoney has named Westpac general manager Dianne Challenor as its new non-executive director.
- DXC Springboard has teamed up with Stone & Chalk to reward innovative companies that are developing systems for the insurance industry.They also recently signed on as Partners of Insurtech Australia.
- New Zealand based startup CodeLingo has secured $540,000 in funding, including from Reinventure.
- Fintech Australia members Birchal, Equitise and OnMarket were among the first seven Australian crowdfunding intermediaries to be licensed by ASIC and have immediately begun offering crowdfunding opportunities.
- Online advice fintech Super Ed has finalised a $5 million funding round
- TradePlus24, has selected Australian deep tech startup, Trade Ledger, as its global technology partner to roll out its new trade insurance wrapped lending product across their European lending network, and enter the Australian market. Trade Ledger is also one of the Aussie fintechs pitching at next week's Next Money FinTech Finals in Hong Kong - good luck, Martin!!!
- The financial advice sector must agree on a set of shared definitions for key terms if it is going to benefit from the new wave of RegTech innovation, says compliance technology firm Advice RegTech.
