FinTech Australia announces new board appointments
FinTech Australia has appointed three new board members, with the addition of one new board position in Queensland.The board now consists of nine members split across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. In addition to providing input on the direction and policies of Fintech Australia, the board actively participates in its operation.The appointments follow FinTech Australias refocus to facilitate and encourage collaboration across all elements in fintech and the broader financial services sector. This years annual Finnies awards will focus on the relaunched ethos towards collaboration and recognising standout fintech businesses.It also follows the groups escalation of its efforts to champion local issues affecting the fintech sector including the changing payments landscape, R&D tax credits, and the Consumer Data Regime.General Manager of FinTech Australia, Rebecca Schot-Guppy says the new board additions are in line with the growth of fintech across Australia.Sydney and Melbourne have long dominated fintech in Australia, but now were starting to see other states catch up, Schot-Guppy said.By appointing another board member, we want to ensure that Queensland has a strong voice at the table when it comes policy and ecosystem matters.The new members include:
- Simone Joyce,Managing Director of Brisbane-based Paypa Plane, a digital payments solution
- Robin Sands, CEO and Co-founder Link4, an invoice delivery SaaS solution
- Nicholas Lembo,Country Manager, Australia at online money transfer firm TransferWise
