FinTech Voice, July 30 2020

Dear Community,

We hope everyone is well as we start to approach Finnies season! With only 3 weeks to go until applications close, we encourage all fintechs to apply to have a chance to have your talent and hard work recognised at Australia's largest fintech awards. Expect to hear our big announcement about the Finnies soon. This week we have a wealth of updates for you regarding our policy work, events, and opportunities. PolicyOver the next couple of weeks, we are hosting a series of online roundtables and webinars. Tomorrow, we will be hosting an update and fireside chat with Senator The Hon Andrew Bragg and Rebecca Schot-Guppy, CEO of FinTech Australia which will include an update from Senator Andrew Bragg about the Senate Select Committee inquiry into fintech and regtech. On 12 August we will be hosting a roundtable with the NPP where an update will be provided on the take-up and usage of the NPP and the NPP's roadmap and future capability development.

In terms of policy work, we are currently continuing to work hard on our response to the ACCC's Intermediaries consultation that is representative of the industry, as well as providing informal feedback to ASIC regarding the Enhanced Regulatory Sandbox. We have finalised and published our submission to ASIC regarding the ePayments Review, which can be found on our website. We are also currently working with our Blockchain and Digital Currency policy working group in respect to deregulation, and the future of the blockchain roadmap. Additionally, we have received a number of member complaints in respect of AFCA. We are organising a roundtable to discuss these complaints with AFCA.
