FinTech Australia appoints fintech veteran investor, executive Andrew Porter as CEO

FinTech Australia has appointed financial services investor, advisor and long time executive Andrew Porter as its new CEO.Porter brings over two decades of experience in the financial services sector to the position, including holding senior roles at three global payments fintechs OFX, World First and TransferMate.FinTech Australia has grown to represent over 420 fintechs in Australia while also supporting 35 corporate partners in their interactions with the industry.In addition to the organisation’s collaboration with the government on policy matters, FinTech Australia’s major events -- The Finnie Awards and Intersekt conference -- play an important role in drawing international attention, galvanizing and growing the industry.The appointment comes at a key point for the organisation, with it set to play a leading role in dealing with the government on policy matters regarding new payments technology, cryptocurrency and blockchain innovation.Incoming FinTech Australia CEO Andrew Porter said: “It is a huge honour to lead and represent one of Australia’s key voices and influencers in the vitally important fintech industry.
