Devonport City Council Goes Live with eInvoicing!
The Devonport City Council became the first major council in Australia to join the Peppol eInvoicing network. The Tasmanian Council signed a deal with leading Access Point Provider, Link4, and has gone live with invoicing documents being delivered into Council’s ERP platform TechnologyOne. Devonport City Council Deputy General Manager Jeffrey Griffith said the shift to eInvoicing would be substantially beneficial to all Council’s financial procedures and its suppliers."We were very eager and absolutely ready to experience the positive impacts of eInvoicing,” Mr Griffiths said. “Devonport City Council is a leader in embracing digital adoption, consistently showing that digital business is not a choice but a necessity.”During the implementation phase, Link4 successfully delivered eInvoices between BOC Gas and Devonport City Council. Now that the solution is live in the production environment, the Council's suppliers who are on the Peppol network can also have their invoices delivered instantly. In addition, through Link4, Devonport City Council was able to discover how many of its suppliers are ready for eInvoicing.Mr Sands said more than 40 suppliers can now start benefiting from delivering eInvoices and get paid even faster. "It is incredible to see how eInvoicing can transform invoicing procedures for any public or private institution. It is a smarter, more efficient and safer way to do business," Mr Sands added. "We are truly excited to be a part of this project. It is uniquely special to Link4 since it is the first collaboration between Link4 and EzeScan, a solution specialising in document capture and business process digitisation.“The involvement of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) team from the very start further establishes the project's significance.”Mr Sands said Devonport City Council is the first of many local government authorities to adopt the safer and more efficient eInvoicing process."We look forward to supporting more councils as they switch to eInvoicing in the coming months," Mr Sands added.
