A record number of entries have been lodged for this year’s Finnies – Australia’s only industry-backed fintech awards.
A total of 215 entries were received, well up from the 158 entries in 2017.
This includes 26 entries for the Emerging FinTech Organisation of the Year category and 22 entries for FinTech Organisation of the Year.
We’re planning to announce the finalists in the week starting 7 May
Our fantastic media partner Business Insider Australia has already profiled some of our award entrants and in doing so helped bring to light some of the innovation happening in our industry.
This includes stories on the following fintechs:
- Look Who’s Charging – which helps people identify those strange charges on your credit card
- HashChing, Loan Dolphin, Lendi and Joust – which are helping Australians get a better deal on their home loans
- Entersoft – a cyber security company which has assisted more than $1 billion ICOs to launch to market.
- Plenty, Stockspot, Balance Impact, Map My Plan, FirstStep, Macrovue and MoneyBrilliant – which are all providing new ways for clients to grow their wealth and are delivering real alternative to the big banks and ‘old school’ ways of doing things.
The Finnies gala award ceremony is being held on Wednesday 13 June. It will be supported by Jobs for NSW, our Finnies presenting partner.
