The pitch event at Japan’s Fintech Summit called the “Pitch Run”, will feature start-up companies involved in broader senses of FinTech. Fintech Summit Week is take place on Sept. 19 to 22, 2017.
FinTech Australia encourages its members and the broader fintech community in Australia to participate for the pitch event. Participants will receive support, exposure, and potential partnership opportunities with major companies. The goal is to contribute in promoting Open Innovation in the Japanese economy.
The Fintech Summit Week is organized by Nikkei, Japan’s Financial Services Agency and Fintech Association of Japan. FIN/SUM will explore the current state of FinTech and its ideal future form. The discussion will include financial workers from various nations, representatives of large banks and institutions, founders of start-up companies, and industry experts.
Guidelines for Applicants
FIN/SUM FinTech・Summit 2017
Date of Event: September 19th & 20th（preliminary）, 22nd (final selection)
Place: Marunouchi Building Hall（Tokyo・Marunouchi）
Application period: July 21st ~ August 28th
*Due date of August 28th has been extended for applications via FinTech Australia
Screening Results: Applicants that passed the screening process will be informed by the end of August.
Note: The selection will be held in the order in which the applications are received. Applications will be closed when the quota is reached.
Who Should Apply
Those who work in FinTech in general. The pitch event for the preliminary will be divided into four categories:
(2) Asset Management・Fundraising
(3) Insurance・New Business
（４）Block Chain・Virtual Currency
Up to 8 company presentations for each category. Presentations to be only made by founders or general managers. Products and services must be ready enough to be demonstrated.

The first screening will be through written applications. Interviews will be held as needed. There will be a three-minute question period during the category preliminary and in the final selection.
Evaluation Points （suggested）
1. Novelty/uniqueness in its product/service
2. Marketability of business/Scalability in the future
3. How well it was presented/How well the presentation was structured
Application/screenings are free (participate in the whole event free of charge).
Flight and accommodation will be arranged for 1 individual by Nikkei Inc.
