Women in Blockchain talking with Dr Alexandra Bratanova, Data61
April 16 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
I have been waiting for Data61 to release its latest report into the potential of blockchain technology – Blockchain 2030 – A Look at the Future in Australia lead by Dr Alexandra Bratanova from the Data61 team here in Brisbane. Finally on Tuesday 9 April 2019, it was officially launched at ACS Office at Barangaroo in Sydney. You can download a copy of the Report here: https://www.acs.org.au/insightsandpublications/reports-publications/blockchain-2030.html This Report is timely considering recent advice from the Australian Government’s Digital Transformation Agency regarding blockchain technology (please, someone tell Mr Alexander to take himself along to a Meetup or a conference like we saw in Adelaide recently for the ADC Global Blockchain Summit). So I have the greatest honour to have Dr Alexandra Bratanova as our BWiB guest. I was lucky to be part of the working group that collaborated with Dr Bratanova and I am super excited that we will have the opportunity to spend an hour learning about the Report’s journey from Dr Bratanova herself. Dr Alexandra Bratanova’s Profile Dr Alexandra Bratanova is a Research Scientist within the Data 61 Insight team. Alexandra holds a PhD in economics from the University of Queensland (2015) and tertiary qualifications in finance and economics from the Moscow City Government University of Management (2013). Since joining CSIRO Alexandra has been playing a key role in the strategic foresight projects investigating future trends and scenarios for Australian labour force (Tomorrow’s Digitally Enabled Workforce), disruptive digital technologies and digital infrastructure, future skills requirements for the construction industry and vocational education, future of transport and energy sectors. Alexandra recently led projects for the Australian Computer Society exploring the future trends and scenarios for blockchain technology adoption in Australia.
